Where Jesus Is
By: Ricky Kerr
There is a place deep in my mind,
A peaceful place, this place of mine.
It’s there I go to just unwind
I love this place this place of mine.
There is a place down in my soul
A special place only I can go
It’s there I’m fed and I’m made whole
I need this place down in my soul.
There is a place the eye can’t see
A spiritual place made just for me.
Each time I go I am set free
One day I’ll stay eternally
Come to this place and be his guest
You’re welcome there and you’ll be blessed
A place of hope and righteousness
This Holy place where Jesus is.
Conviction
By: Ricky Kerr
As I sat there on that church pew
With my head hanging low.
One dark and gloomy Sunday morning
The invitation they were singing slow.
Was the Spirit speaking softly
Calling, “Please, won’t you prepare?”
“For the judgment day is coming
And it’s for certain you’ll be there.”
“Oh Spirit wait! I’m just not ready.”
As the devil came on the scene.
He said, “Washed in the blood of Jesus?
There’s no need, you haven’t been mean.”
“Oh careless soul…” their voices singing
As I wrestled with the King.
If I can hold out a little longer
Just one more verse left to sing.
Then, reality fell upon me
And I knew that I was lost.
I had to reach that blessed Savior.
I had to somehow, no matter the cost.
The preacher preaching, their voices singing,
It’s just too much for me to bear.
For I see love in the face of those voices.
It’s plain to see how much they care.
I’ll make the move, the first steps hardest,
As I seek His saving grace.
With each step praying, “Lord please save me.”
As the tears roll down my face.
And then it happened, the cleanest feeling,
As the burdens from me rolled.
In my soul I am rejoicing
With joy and freedom that is still untold.
Praise God ye people of this planet
For there has been a spiritual birth.
And now I know the true, true meaning.
There is indeed peace on earth.
As I sat there on that church pew
With my head hanging low.
One dark and gloomy Sunday morning
The invitation they were singing slow.
Was the Spirit speaking softly
Calling, “Please, won’t you prepare?”

Inside
By: Ricky Kerr
Just over the hill and down a dirt road
Up the drive past a little cane patch.
A squeaky hinge on an old board fence
With a rusty old bailing wire latch.
A screened in porch on an old house
Not a thing that would cause a fuss.
The grass won’t grow in the front yard
‘Cause the kids play there too much.
Cho.
But, inside you’ll find mama and daddy.
Offering hugs and a handshake
And a plate of cornbread and beans.
Take the time to eat with mama and daddy
Around their supper table you’ll find what true love means.
Well wrenching rods and hauling hay
Hard work is what he did.
The only thing he worked harder at
Was loving his wife and his kids.
He never found a fortune
And he never had much fame.
But, somewhere there’s a book of life
And there you’ll find his name.
(Chorus)
She putters around in the kitchen
In her favorite flower sack dress.
Supper time is coming
So, there’s not much time to rest.
She’s not what you’d see in a magazine
As she throws the dish water out.
But, she was there when the kids got home from school
And the home fires never went out.
Just over the hill and down a dirt road
Up the drive past a little cane patch.....
Just over the hill and down a dirt road
Up the drive past a little cane patch.

Papa's Table
By: Ricky Kerr
A hard working man and a loving wife,
Starting out to build a life.
Built their family on hard work and pure love.
At the end of each long day
‘Round the table we would pray
Then we’d feast on what we had and Papa’s love.
Chorus:
We’d all sit around the table close to supper time.
Papa’d read to us the bible to feed our spirit and our mind.
If I could call back yesterday and do one thing again.
Let me sit at Papa’s table with him.
Papa worked hard to raise us right
Around that table every night
He’d tell stories from the bible that he read.
We learned wrong and we learned right,
Went to bed at peace each night.
Then we’d sleep with heavenly visions in our heads.
(Chorus)
In my mind in Glory land
There’s a table there, so grand.
It sits near the throne where all the saints can meet.
One day I will go there too and there’s one thing I want to do.
Let me sit there with my Papa at Jesus’ feet.
A hard working man and a loving wife,
Starting out to build a life.
Built their family on hard work and pure love.
